After the last V400 left and the mini loader showed up not a single person ever said a word about wanting a skid steer that big again. The mini loader gets used for everything the big skid was used for and then some more, the 2 smaller skids (95xt and TR270 ctl) do everything else and are much more agile.
So far, the only suspects I have on my list are the New Holland L334, the LS190B, and the LX985. The skid steer has to be big enough to quickly load up a single body dump truck while at the same time turn tightly like any skid steer loader in one spot instead of backing up and driving forward. Good luck using a skid steer to auger 18' deep holes. I have done many piers. To do such a deep pier you will need a long screw to help get the dirt up or you will be lifting and lowering a small bit a lot to clear the dirt each time removing and adding extensions.
I need to replace 1 tire on my skid steer but am thinking of putting 4 new tires on. The sidewalls are cracking bad at the edge of the thick rim guard. I know why they stopped selling Eurogrip tires. LoL I have 1 good tire I replaced a few years ago . I was wondering if anyone had any experience with skid steers on slopes mowing or working in general? We would like to replace our compact tractor with a tracked skid with brush mower to open up our options. Obvious concern would be how steep of angle is to steep for the machine. I would say most of the work would be 35-45 degrees or less.
Around here you have to use an engineered manlift, scissorlift or zoomboom lift. The big rental chains will bring in whatever you want at no extra charge if they don't have it in their local yard. If your skid-loader blows a hydraulic hose, down you will come since it will not have the check-valves that a manlift requires.
