I have played with the lap bar switch but I can't tell if it won't go out of park because the lap bar or if it thinks I'm not in the seat. If I wiggle the fuse which is labeled with a "lock" the park light will light up, and then it will not go back off. The problem has never been, nor does it seem to be a mechanical .
