One of the places I purchase/rent from sells a brand called RACOON skid steer. It's a Chinese company called Zhejiang Hero Time Machinery Co and it looks like they've been around for 20 years and they use brand name engines. Based on pictures of the skid steers, they appear to be pretty stout. BTW, I spent a month in China a year ago traveling all over. Their factories, in general, are top notch (they're new) and the Chinese are really kicking butt.
Got the preasure numbers for the engine relief valves. all checked out put the crank back together, new rod bearings. put the engine back in the skid steer.
IMO there is NO most dependable brand make or model there are good and bad ones from ever maker, if buying new, (even used) the better plan might be to find out what brands have the best dealers nearest you, as not all dealers are of the same quality in there work and how they handle you and your warranty repairs, some drag there feet, some over charge, , .
